GigaBeam 1.5.1 includes the improvement and bugfix listed below.

Improvements

  • Security: Support SHA-512 password hashing on password change or factory reset.
  • System: disabled SNMP by default.
  • Updated regulatory for Panama (PA), Philippines (PH), Austria (AT), Ukraine (UA) and Italy (IT).

Bugfixes

  • Wireless: fixed main and backup radio reconnects.

Additional information

When hashes change

  • Passwords will only be re-hashed with SHA-512 when you change your password or perform a factory reset.
  • If you upgrade the firmware without changing your password, existing MD5 hashes will remain in place.


Downgrading considerations

  • If you change your password post-upgrade (thereby switching to SHA-512) and then downgrade to a firmware version that uses MD5, the Web UI will prompt you to re-enter your password so it can be re-hashed with MD5.
  • Downgrades performed via methods that bypass this Web UI re-hash step are not supported and will be blocked to prevent hash mismatches.
