I currently run my network using consumer-grade equipment (Ubiquiti UniFi and TP-Link Omada). I committed to Omada about six months ago; it worked well initially, but over the past month I’ve experienced random network crashes, mostly during peak traffic hours. I believe the equipment is being pushed beyond its limits. Also, using consumer gear means everything is very manual—no automatic billing, no proper centralized monitoring, and none of the ISP-oriented features platforms like UISP promise.

The main reasons I’m in this situation are:

1. I underestimated demand.
2. I started this business right after college with limited resources.
3. I had no formal networking or IT training and learned everything on the fly.

While researching more suitable equipment, I came across Ubiquiti’s UISP ecosystem. I’m familiar with UniFi and have generally had a good experience with Ubiquiti hardware, but I’ve never fully used UISP (aside from NanoStation M5/Loco M5). Before committing fully, I’d like feedback from the community.

Specifically:

• How reliable is the airCube ISP?
• How does its Wi-Fi range compare to something like the UniFi UAP AC Lite?
• Is it easy to set up and does it integrate well with UISP?
• How usable and mature is the UISP management platform?

I currently serve around 500 customers. Migrating fully to UISP would be expensive, but I’m willing to invest if the ecosystem is solid. Any insights or real-world experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I need to get web access username from an AirCube. I can get CLI access using default ubnt user, but it´s not enought for web access and a i cannot find where is login user stored for look or modify.

I have an AirCube ACB-AC that I want to configure.

The story in nutshell: It powered via POE. When I configure the vlan id for the guest network by default it's configured to the wan port. Because it's not a POE IN port I need to change it to the correct one. However the AirCube doesn't offer ssh, the only way to access it via CLI is the UISP app. Because, currently it has only paid plan I would need to deploy my own instance. If there is any other possiblity to configure it, I would choose that one. If there is no, I will deploy an instance.

Do you think I have any other way to configure this port?

Just cracked one out the box to find no UK option in the region.

Has anyone come across this and found a fix, I'm sure the hardware will be the same, just a firmware and bios software setting.

Any help would be great.

Is this new behavior? Or am I just mis-remembering being able to remotely change a 'Cube's hostname?

After having change LAN, Data VLAN and Management VLAN. Saved changes I get a green confirmation in UISP application. But seconds after airCube does revert to original default settings.

Why, and how to overcome?

Ive setup a network for direct los from a garage to a cabin about 250 ft away using 2 nano station 5ac loco. The garage has starlink gen 3, the one 5ac loco is outside the garage beaming direct los to the cabin, which inside the cabin is hooked to a u6+ ap and this has been working great.

Now the person is wondering if we can keep the cabin setup, but somehow switch the ap that is outside of the garage so it can beam direct los still to the cabin nano station and to a new outdoor building that is about 200 ft away in another direction, about 180 from that direction?

Not sure if this makes sense, but then we can just use that nano station that is outside the garage to receive the beam from the new outdoor ap. If this is possible what could we use? Could the outdoor ap at the garage be the u6 mesh pro? Or would we have to use a whole new system? I hope this makes sense.

is there a way to downgrade from unpublished 2.8.9 firmware? We have a problem where windows PC cannot connect through Remote Desktop to another windows PC on local wifi network. It works for some time (hours, days) after restart of AirCube. No setting of either windows PC has any impact. If possible, downgrade to 2.8.8 or (preferably!) update to some new 2025 firmware would be great. Otherwise it is just a WasteCube.

last firmware for AirCube AC (ACB-AC) is 2.8.8 from 14.3.2023 (https://ui.com/download/software/acb-ac). There sure are lots of security holes and other bugs in such an old firmware. Does it mean that this device is no longer supported and Ubiquiti just forgot to write that to the list of EOL devices (https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500001268521-Ubiquiti-s-Vintage-and-Legacy-Products) ?

What is the minimum power supply to power a Nano Loco and an AirCube ISP - may even consider running off 24v dc-dc
