I'm in Latin America, "Mexico," and it will open up in another country in Europe. Please help, and in advance I would like to thank everyone for their help.

Looking for guidance for a PtMP design for cameras

I'm looking for guidance on the best equipment to use for 3 different projects for remote IP camera connectivity. I have a good deal of experience setting up PtP/PtMP with the 5 GHz antennas. I have just started a project using the PICOs and have found them a little more difficult to work with, probably due to lack of experience.

Project 1 - Transmitter/s can be centrally located with line of site to appox 12 locations with 360 degrees from the base.

Project 2 - Transmitter/s located on a police department that will need to hop up to 7 times from pole to pole with cameras on each pole. Due to line of site issues from buildings, transmitters will go in 3 different directions.

Project 3. Transmitter located on PD to 20 cameras located in a park, walkway, and bridge.

I know, it's a lot. I'm just looking for guidance on the equipment I should be considering. The newer cameras are starting to eat bandwidth, and I'm concerned the AC line may not have enough juice. 2 of the 3 projects above are currently running on on AC or M 5 GHz, but they are looking to expand. No hop is farther than 2500 feet, most are 500 to 1000.

I would gladly pay for a phone consult if that is available.

Best Regards,

Bill

Input on PtmP Setup

Hi,

I'm looking for some input on a PtmP plan I came up with.

Our current setup is as attached below:

Float 1 has four cameras, two access points, serving about 10 people.

Float 2 has one camera.

Float 3 has eight cameras, five AP's, and can at peak hours have 60 people on it.

Float 4 has three cameras, two AP's, and can also have about 60 people on it at peak hours.

The station is a LiteAP AC, with 4 NanoStation 5AC Loco's as the stations. It's about 500 ft from the top of the dock to the floats. This setup is running at 40MHz channel width in the DSF zone, and consistently have an RX rate of 8x. There is one PtmP access point per float, of which our dock is comprised of 4 separate floats tied together. However, in this current setup there are a number of internet connectivity issues present such as: calls via WhatsApp/WiFi calling dropping, slow internet speeds, and drops in internet connectivity. These issues are intermittent, but are exacerbated in the evenings when there are lots of people the come up to the floats.

My plan is as follows in the attached photo:

I will add a secondary LiteAP AC to a different building, and help split up the load between the 4 floats. Each station will take one heavy load float, and one light load. Both access points would have a unique ssid that two of the stations would connect to, each on their own control frequency such that they do not overlap.

Does this sound like something that could help alleviate our issues, or would this not help as much as I think it would?

Question about uisp and unifi combined networking

I have a friend who has a ranch. We've put in the following but I think I'm doing something not quite right so I'm hoping the community can help set me straight. Here goes:

The ranch is connected via Starlink.

I have an LTU Rocket on a tower

I have a usip console 330

I have a core/aggregation Switch

I have fiber connecting some of the buildings

I have LTU antennas on the endpoint houses/buildings

I also have a UDM Pro that is connected to the Starlink

Inside the buildings I have the following Unifi gear

Small Uinifi switch

Unifi 6 Mesh AP

My question is around the networking in the IT closet mostly. I'm getting myself confused with the UDM Pro and the UISP console.

What's the preferred way to connect things with what I have, starting from the Internet inward?

It's all working, I just think I have some duplication or devices that are not really doing anything. :) Like the Console below

Here is how things are set up today. I'm working on the STP priority issue as well (I dont have the aggregation swith installed - today's project)

Any recomendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Point-to-point link between 2 antennas at a distance of 700 meters

Hi, I’m Mario, I’m from Italy and I’m a new member of this community.

I’m not an expert in point-to-point antennas, and I would really appreciate your advice on a project I have in mind.

The house where I currently live (and where I have a fiber optic internet connection that reaches up to 2500 Mbps download) is located 700 meters away from my other house in the countryside, which unfortunately doesn’t have any internet connection.

I’ve attached a photo showing the view from the roof of my current house. In the image, I highlighted in red the roof of my neighbor’s house; my countryside house is right next to the one in the photo, and as you can see, it would be covered by the tree canopy.

I’d like to ask: do I need to mount the antenna on a telescopic pole, so that it rises above the treetops? Or could I still get some signal even if the antenna is partially blocked by the trees?

In your opinion, is this a feasible solution? Also, what Ubiquity antennas would you recommend for this distance and line of sight?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards,

Mario

I have 2 other sets of UISP radios AirFiber 60 and AirFiber 60 LR. No issues New Wave Pro. both have latest firmware. Connect with Bluetooth on App. 1 radio I have connected to Network. Can connect to brower to the IP. Other radio I can connect via Bluetooth and see that device on the APP (i dont have a subscription currently.

On the network connected Wave Pro, I connected via the app in hopes of making that device the AP. But it fails each time.

Both are in PTP mode, uisp is the SSID, but I did not assign a Key believing it would assign a key automatically, so its all 0000.0000.

This typically not given me challenges.
